Vijay Singh, nicknamed “The Big Fijian”, was born on February 22, 1963 and is a Fijian professional golfer. In 2004 and 2005, he became number one for 32 weeks in the Official World Golf Rankings. In 2003, 2004 and 2008, he was the leading money winner of PGA tour and has won the PGA Championship in 1998 and 2004 and The Masters in 2000. In 2006, he was introduced into the World Golf Hall of Fame and in 2008 won the FedEx Cup. Vijay Singh, an Indo-Fijian, who is from a Hindu background, was born in Lautoka, Fiji. In Italy, at the Volvo Open Championship, he won his first European tour title in the year 1989. In 1993, Singh entered the PGA Tour, winning his first PGA Tour event. After being burdened with neck and back problems, he came back to win the Phoenix Open as well as the Buick Classic.
